I am trying to use the GetDirectories() method in an ASP.NET

of any update panel.

Hi,

In .net 1.1, the socket.connect method only takes an endpoint. If I
want to connect to a named address, such as [link], can I create
an IPEndPoint without calling Dns.Resolve or Dns.GetHostEntry?

Something like

IPEndPoint endPoint = new IPEndPoint('[link], 80);

Extracting highlighted text from PDF

Hello all,

I am developing an application for a client where they would like to
display a pdf to one of their clients in an ASP.NET web app that has
text and images that can be highlighted/selected. They then want to
have the user of the application hit a submit button and that
highlighted text (or selected image) be extracted and stored in a db.

Which sucks when trying to implement jQuery. I guess I'll just leave
any client side work to regular HTML controls and jQuery, or AJAX
extensions.

I think the OP is actually addressing the issue of Microsoft creating
two different systems for creating essentially the same thing.

If you have a VS2005 installation with SP1, you may well have the
choice between creating a New Web Site, or creating a Web Applciation
Project.

The former doesn't compile the code behind directly into DLLs, all
