Ordinary map interaction like dragging and zooming does not use geocoding.
Converting back and forth between pixel positions and latitude/longitude
does not use geocoding.
Geocoding only comes into play when you:
1) Convert a place name or address into a latitude/longitude, or
2) Convert a latitude/longitude into a list of nearby addresses or places

i just want to put 'google maps' in a sized div. loading on an

i read the "Map Basics" but diddnt understand it.

Yes you will. I probably have examples of doing things similar to
that in various places, but I haven't had time to do it for you or
find those examples. I would look at the pages that I have that do
that and the results of that search to make it work. I may get around
to it eventually, but I don't have time right now.

yes I know the subject is somewhat drifting away from the focus of
this group (BTW ...thanks for the links) ... what I was trying to
decifer is wheather (and it looks as if I will) need to modify:

I've been trying this for hrs with no success. I know it shouldnt be a

basically i have an info window displayed when a marker is clicked.
