We just got back from the Outback. I enjoyed two very large Sam Adams Oktoberfests. It's good beer. Upon returning to the house, I discovered my potted Mandevilla had tipped over in the mulch garden. I kicked off my heels (which I rarely wear) and went out to lift it upright. Then I saw a couple of nice tomatoes in the garden, and as I walked over to pick them, I stepped on one of those prickly weeds with my bare feet. Woe is me. But I'm still full of Oktoberfest so... givl it.
PCS exhibit opening last night; not one of you showed up. Beautiful venue, great refreshments, a little jazz ensemble playing. I never got to create the thing I wanted to on Tues. night, so I submitted a piece I did last Christmas. I never took it to get it framed, so I had to send my son out to AC Moore to buy a frame for it, I was too busy to even do that. He came home with the crappiest, cheapest wooden frame you could imagine, but the size I asked for. Oh well, too late to do anything but stick the artwork in the frame and submit it. Darned thing won first prize!
Worked all day today. Will do the same tomorrow. Tony won't miss my company - he'll be glued to the teevee - Phillies double header, and Eagles first game of the season. What's a Mandevilla? I'm too lazy to google it - just tell me. Sounds exotic.

Would it be safe to say you were 'traipsing through the garden' before the unfortunate contact with the prickly weeds?

Congratulations, Shirlee.
May we see your prize-winning calligraphy, please?
