Subject: decomposition of tensor powers
Hi,

According to Fulton and Harris' "Representation Theory: a first course",
a tensor power V^*d can be written as a direct sum of tensor products
of S(V), where S is the Schur functor. However, from the proof in that
text, it would seem that is a direct sum of *direct sums* of S(V).
Does any one know which is correct, or are they equivalent?

Thanks,
Qu
